Download the client from the above link. Extract it to the location of your choosing. There is no installation required, simply extract the file.

Run the "Freelancer.bat" file in the extracted Freelancer directory to launch the game. Once within the game, choose the "Multiplayer" setting.

After the prompt about the internet being a dangerous place because it's full of hookers and blackjack, choose either LAN or Internet, it doesn't matter. The list should start to populate with available servers.

The option that should show up first is the "RabidChapstick Freelancer" server. This is the one you want to choose. The password is "nerdparty".
